Bosch Appliance FD Number and Serial Date Guide
Bosch belongs on the appliance path, not in a generic electronics cluster. The useful date field is the appliance FD production number; the E-Nr identifies the model, and the rating plate may also include a Z-Nr and serial.
- 1 Locate the appliance rating plate and distinguish E-Nr from FD and Z-Nr.
- 2 Enter the full FD production number in the Bosch appliance decoder.
- 3 Keep the E-Nr for manuals, parts, and model-specific verification.
This page is for Bosch dishwashers, refrigerators, ovens, ranges, cooktops, and related home appliances using the supported FD structure. It does not claim that Bosch consumer electronics use the same rule.
Bosch is preselected under Appliances. Enter the complete FD production number or supported Bosch rating-plate serial exactly as shown.
How the supported Bosch FD path works
For supported FD numbers, digits 3-4 are converted to a year by adding 1920 and digits 5-6 are read as the month. The decoder rejects impossible months instead of producing a date. This applies to the supported Bosch appliance FD structure.
E-Nr, FD, Z-Nr, and serial each have a job
Bosch calls the E-Nr the model number and the FD the production number. Bosch registration and support pages also request the Z-Nr or serial information. Use the E-Nr for manuals and product documentation; use the supported FD field for production-date decoding.
Bosch appliance rating-plate fields
FD + year digits + month digits
The supported decoder derives a year and month from the FD positions after validating the month.
Product model identifier
Used by Bosch for manuals, parts, registration, and model-specific documentation.
Additional unit identifier
Useful for service and registration but not interchangeable with the FD date field.
Bosch FD worked example
FD8605123456
The tested Bosch appliance rule reads 86 + 1920 as 2006 and reads 05 as May.
FD86 13 ...
Month 13 is rejected. The decoder does not convert an impossible FD month into a plausible-looking date.
E-Nr
Use the E-Nr, including its suffix where shown, on Bosch support to retrieve the correct manual and specifications.
Where Bosch places the rating plate
Bosch dishwashers
- Check the inner door edge or frame after opening the door
- Photograph the entire plate so E-Nr, FD, and serial fields stay together
Bosch refrigeration and cooking
- Use Bosch appliance-specific rating-plate guidance for refrigerators, ovens, ranges, and cooktops
- Bosch provides a category-by-category plate finder
Registration and manuals
- Bosch registration requests E-Nr, FD, and Z-Nr from the rating label
- Bosch manuals are searched by E-Nr
Common Bosch field mistakes
- Entering the E-Nr in the FD decoder field.
- Dropping the FD prefix or copying only part of the production number.
- Applying the appliance FD rule to unrelated Bosch product categories.
- Reading the Z-Nr as the production date field.
- Using a decoded date without retaining a rating-plate photo for verification.
